A little bit about me

Well what to say. It's been a busy life so far and I'm only 26. Living on my own in the capitol city of Croatia, Zagreb and making ends meet by doing design work, photography and DJing. A passionate gamer and music lover. I started this website because I wanted to put all my life's work into a proper form, not so much as an online portfolio, just a place where I can say, here's the bulk of it, this is my life. There are many clients and things I did in the previous years that aren't listed here and probably won't be. My goal is not to put as much content for bragging rights but rather sumarize my own life's work that I'm mostly proud of and happy with.

As far as music goes I started listening to electronic music around 1998 and started going to parties around 2000. You could go so far as to say I never listened to proper music before those years. After a couple of years of listening to techno I discovered psytrance and it took me by storm. After exploring Croatia's small trance party scene and going to different festivals abroad I found myself starting to DJ chill out music since I like to experiment more and chill out has always given me that ability. During the years I changed my style from the more ethno style to IDM ambient with lots of clicks and glitches. I like my music to be danceable yet still very atmospheric and relaxing. I also try to incorporate many various styles you wouldn't normally hear on trance/chill out labels into my sets.

One of my biggest projects was the trancepleme.com website, as the designer and one of the founders of the site I tried to promote the trance scene in Croatia and make it bigger. As well as writing reviews and articles for the site I started working with the rest of Croatia's trance party organizers and so we started the Underwater Overground festival. For 4 years I worked on the visual concept, stage management, lineup and the production of the chill out floor. Although the festival has never had many people it did bring a lot of familiar names from the full on and progressive trance scene and it maintained a true underground vibe which most of our artists loved. We also started a lounge bar party serial called Chilli Bar which kept us in one place for more than a year playing every week and later on moved through many smaller bars and clubs. In more recent years I worked together with a new organization crew called Ministarstvo Psihodelije (Ministry of psychedelics).

I played at many festivals throughout Europe such as Ozora Festival 2005/2007/2008, 15th VooV festival and Tshitraka 2008 as well as pretty much all of Croatia's parties and festivals such as Underwater Overground, Future Nature, Seasplash festival, Solar Tribe festival and many other parties in clubs and out in the open. The size of the scene in Croatia still remains pretty underground but it always gave me a nice unique perspective on things and made me appreciate when people really got into my music. Chill out is still keeping me pretty occupied with exploring other labels beyond the trance scene such as Ninja Tune, True Thoughts, Morr, Planet Mu, Warp and plenty others, doing work for Sofa Beats has also been interesting but of course in recent years I have started playing both progressive trance and full on as well and gotten some very nice feedback.

It's not about what happened in the past or what you think might happen in the future, it's about the ride!

In 2007 I got the honor of compiling the Floating Point 4 CD as well as doing the entire design and layout for it. As a continuation of my design work I started the Progressive Tunes magazine for labels which were initially present on the twohands distribution and expanded that base onto new ones.

As far as design goes web design has always been my medium of choice, somehow I always felt that the limits it imposes on the designer and all the frustrations one has to go through to make a good website really pay off in the end. The more limited you are the bigger the satisfaction you get when you complete a project. Having discovered web standards and the use of CSS and tableless layouts on modern websites has been a real revolution for me. Ever since I've been commited to writing proper valid code and trying to make my webpages as much accessable as possible. Naturally I love print work as well and designing flyers, posters and magazines has also been a passion. There is no greater luck in life than having a job which you truly enjoy doing and getting paid properly for it as well.

So for the sake of argument let's say my PR is getting to you, you wanna get in touch for any number of reasons. Be it booking, design work, or just want to say hi. Feel free to use the contact form below or download my Vcard. If there is any strong message I want to relate then it would be the one message that has kept me going through life no matter what: "It's not about what happened in the past or what you think might happen in the future, it's about the ride!"
